Gujarat Titans’ young player Sai Sudarshan has been an important player for the team ever since he was included in the team. He has now broken the old record of the great Chris Gayle in IPL.
Gujarat Titans have really got a great player in the form of Tamil Nadu batsman Sai Sudarshan, who has been a consistent performer across all games for the Titans. He has formed one of the most successful opening pairs with captain Shubman Gill.
Sudarshan was the leading run-scorer in the last edition of the IPL, where he scored 750+ runs and managed to take his home team to the playoffs and also played his part in the knockout game against Mumbai.
Sai Sudarshan broke Chris Gayle’s big record in IPL
Gujarat Titans reached Chinnaswamy after a humiliating defeat at their home ground Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Left-handed opening batsman Sai Sudarshan was out for a golden duck in the last game, but he came to Chinnaswamy to change his fortunes.
One of the finest batting tracks in India, Chinnaswamy is often known to favor the batsmen, but no one expected Sudarshan to break the record of one of the most explosive players, who had played most of his games for this franchise at this venue.
Sudarshan scored 2000 runs in IPL cricket and became the batsman to break the great record of former RCB player Chris Gayle. The West Indies player had achieved this feat in 48 innings in his career, while Sudarshan has reached this feat in his 47th IPL innings.

Sai Sudarshan broke Ruturaj Gaikwad’s previous record
The Gujarat Titans batsman has been in good form in the IPL in the last few seasons and has reached record milestones. He has now also broken CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s former record of fastest to 2000 IPL runs.
The CSK batsman had taken 57 innings to reach this milestone number, which was the fastest for any Indian player previously, however, Sudarshan now tops the list with 10 innings less.
However, in terms of number of balls played in IPL to reach 2000 runs in IPL, Abhishek Sharma still tops the list, reaching the milestone within 1193 balls.
Gujarat Titans bounce back with third IPL century under Sudarshan
After a bad batting collapse against Mumbai Indians on their home ground, Gujarat Titans needed something special from their batsmen to claw their way back into the contest. The confidence of those batsmen must also have been low who were out for just 100 runs on their home ground.
However, Sai Sudarshan did not let him lack confidence and took over the innings by forming a big century partnership with the captain. He also completed his third century in the IPL, striking more than 170.
